Born and raised in Lake County, I’ve spent my career serving students and families across our diverse communities, fostering a deep understanding of their unique needs and aspirations. I’ve worked in multiple districts and coached at Lower Lake, Upper Lake, and Middletown, which has not only provided me with real experience around the lake but also allowed me to form strong relationships throughout the county that have enriched my professional journey. My involvement in various educational settings has exposed me to different teaching methodologies and community dynamics, equipping me with a versatile skill set to address various challenges. Because I still work directly with students, I stay connected to the real challenges schools face every day, allowing me to advocate effectively for necessary resources and support that enhance the educational experience and foster a positive environment for learning, growth, and success.
I believe in preparing students for both college and career by expanding CTE, strengthening academics, and embracing AI and technology so every student is ready for the future. Our schools need to give students strong options, whether that path leads to a university, a trade, the workforce, or public service.
I also believe in flipping the pyramid. I am not a top-down administrator. I believe leadership should work with and for districts, not above them. The County Office should be a partner that listens, supports, and helps remove barriers so schools can do their best work for kids.
One of the most common themes I have heard from those I’ve met with is the need for greater transparency. I believe trust is built through honesty, open communication, and making sure every district has a voice.
I’m running for Lake County Superintendent of Schools to bring practical leadership, innovation, transparency, and support to every district around the lake.
